Leeds boasts so many great places to visit. But you don't need a car. Leeds is a city that can be explored on foot. And with the Leeds walking and wheeling map, exploring on foot just got even easier!
The map shows how long journeys will take, on average, for someone walking of wheeling around the city. The times shown are from Leeds train station, which is located in the centre of the map. The map is orientated with the north of the city shown at the top of the map.
Most short journeys (under 2 miles) are completed by car. But, this is adding to congestion, increasing noise and air pollution, and is expensive for people and places. By leaving the car at home and taking public transport, or opting for active modes of travel, such as walking, wheeling, cycling, running etc. you will be helping your community and boosting your own health and wellbeing.
This map was produced following conversations and engagements via Twitter with a range of people who live and work in Leeds. Do you think we have missed any key landmarks? What do you think about the design - anything you'd change? Let me know!
