A new cafe bar 'Residence 74' has opened on Otley road and it is epic. Think creamy cappuccinos, juicy burgers, full English breakfasts, homemade soup and pancakes with berries. The atmosphere is great, and so are the staff. This place is a must!
We wanted to go big so we ordered the Residence 74 Might Full English. We were not disappointed. Everything on the plate was delicious. The black pudding was great quality and even the mushrooms, which can be slimy, were cooked well. The bacon was crisp and the beans were hot. The sourdough was perfectly toasted, and once we to around to eating it, the butter had melted so that it was easily spreadable.
It was hard to decide what else to have as everything sounded so good, and we were so hungry! However, the Eggs Royale was recommended to us, and as lovers of eggs and smoked salmon we couldn't say not- so we gave that a shot. We are glad we did too. The hollandaise sauce was creamy and rich, the eggs soft poached and runny, and the muffins soft and warm. So good, I mean, just look at this plate...
Up next was one of the most picturesque pancake stacks that we have ever had the pleasure to try in Leeds. These pancakes were warm, stacked high with caramelized banana, and smothered in a sweet berry compote. I think for one person it could be a little much, but for us, this pancake stack was perfect as a dessert following our 'main' breakfast dishes!
We are already excited to go back! Why don't you head over tomorrow? They are open every day and serve breakfast and brunch on the weekends so no excuses!
