Herbivorous is a vegan mobile street food company (which, until March 2nd, can be found at Carousel in Headingely). Herbivorous was founded by two enthusiastic foodies, Robyn & Damian- who are both excellent cooks and super passionate about great vegan food.

We checked out Herbivorous at its temporary location in Headingely, and we were pleasantly surprised by the range of tasty vegan options that were on offer.
Robyn recommended that we try the 'hoisin "duck" wrap' which was a delicious combination of grilled seitan served with red peppers, fresh lettuce, spring onions, and a generous drizzle of hoisin BBQ sauce and creamy vegan mayo. The wrap was well balanced, and a pretty big portion, but we are not going to complain about that! I would have preferred the wrap toasted as I think that would have really finished it off, and added an extra crunch to each bite.
As a side we ordered the super popular dinosaur fries which were home cut and generously loaded with softly cooked BBQ jackfruit, creamy coleslaw and chipotle mayo. The fries were incredible- crispy on the outside and hot and fluffy inside. This was our first time trying jackfruit and it was amazing. The texture, flavor and smell were all fab. Just take a look at the load to those fries!
