Els Gourmet: Burgers to die for!

Writer: Leeds Food GuideLeeds Food Guide

If you are in the mood for great food that is sure to fill you up, then check out Els Gourmet! An incredible array of burgers, fries, sides and shakes are on offer, and the staff are super lovely. What are you waiting for? Go get stuck in.

We found it tough to choose what to eat. The Els Gourmet menu is big. But, thankfully the lovely staff are on hand to help, and explain that you have to choose your 'burger'- which can be chicken (grilled or fried), beef, or a veggie pattie. Then you select your burger fillings, and then finally add your sides, extra toppings and a drink.

We opted to try the 'Juicy Lucy' which was made up of a generous beef patty filled with cheesy, more cheese on top, red onion, salad and then we added some turkey bacon rashers- because why not! Check it out here:

We also tried the A.M Burger with a fried egg, mushrooms, tomato and lots of cheese. We opted to have this one with the veggie patty, and some extra guacamole. Although the burger itself was delicious - the melty cheese, fried mushrooms and crispy patty were fab, it was a little disappointing that the fried egg wasn't runny because that would have really made this burger sing!

To go with our burgers were ordered sweet potato fries- because it would be rude not to, and crispy chicken goujans which were excellent. Both of these sides were ideal for dipping in some cool ketchup, and were perfect finger food to go along side our burgers. Check out the crispy sweet potato fries below:

Although we were really full after our burgers and sides, we couldn't help but order some cake! Els Gourmet have an excellent arrange of cake options of offer, from salted caramel cheesecake, and blueberry muffins to lemon drizzle cake. They also have loads of milkshakes which could easily be a desert in themselves!

We decided to go for the peanut butter chocolate fudge cake which was served warm with toffee and caramel sauce. It was super decedent and very chocolatey- satisfying our sweet teeth perfectly. However, we would have loved a good scoop of ice cream to go along side - perhaps we will suggest that next time!

We took loads of great photos of our meal, which you can see on our Instagram and Facebook pages. Let us know what you think!
